What is the Lincoln EDA?
The Lincoln EDA is a non-profit corporation promoting the economic development of Lincoln county. It is directed by a volunteer board of business leaders appointed by the Lincoln County Commission. Operating funding is provided by private contributions and public grants - both considered to be investments in the future of Lincoln County.
Mission Statement
To promote and advance the business prosperity and economic welfare of Lincoln County, while maintaining environmental standards, recreational areas, and improving housing for its citizens.
Economic Development Programs
Business Retention and Expansion
Assisting existing Lincoln County businesses to ensure full utilization of special funding sources and business linkages available in the area. Expanding local business is a top priority of the Lincoln EDA.
Business Recruiting
The Lincoln EDA markets Lincoln County to out of area business prospects for relocating and expanding. Prospects are found through business calls, referrals, direct mail, and coordination with the West Virginia Development Office and other economic development organizations. The Lincoln EDA is working to obtain Certified Development Community status from the West Virginia Development Office.
Small Business
Encouraging entrepreneurs by providing business counseling to start-up companies, working with small business development centers to obtain start-up loans and other assistance from financial institutions.
Area Development
The Lincoln EDA is working with State Development Officials to create two industrial parks in Lincoln County. Lincoln County's people resources are developed through various training programs designed to update employee skills.
Community Development
Providing guidance to local community development through programs such as the Community Mini-grant Program. As a designated Champion Community, Lincoln County has access to special funding sources from the state of West Virginia.
